The 1st Ecosocialist Festival of Caracas 2026 was installed
in the spaces of Itagua Park in the parish of La Vega, with the objective of
connecting youth with the earth. The event included the
active participation of more than a hundred community organizations working for the
recovery of environmental harmony in the Venezuelan capital.
In addition, the Chuquisaca Plan was formally launched, an ambitious environmental
goal contemplating the planting of 250,000 seeds throughout the
capital, under the guidelines of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
The program also expands the culture of recycling to 100
squares in the city, in order to mitigate the effects of climate change and
promote the care of public spaces.
During the day, the new Green Points were presented
to transform garbage and waste sources into circular economy centers, a
system with which citizens can accumulate points redeemable for
technological equipment as an incentive for their participation in waste management. This comprehensive solution is
expected to progressively reach the 299 communal
circuits that make up Greater Caracas.
