Last Thursday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated that the situation in Gaza is “intolerable” for civilians as the Israeli genocide intensifies in the Strip.

The protection of the population “is not just an obligation of international humanitarian law: it is a moral imperative,” Julien Lerisson, head of the ICRC delegation for Israel and the Occupied Territories, details in a statement.

Lerisson reported that last Tuesday night the Red Cross field hospital “received a massive influx of victims: 48 patients, including women and children, all gunshot,” he wrote.

In his message, the official of the International Red Cross condemned “the degree of destruction” currently appreciable in Gaza, a scenario that far from “bringing peace or stability closer” deepens “suffering”, he remarked.
