Representative of Cuba at the UN: What moral does the United States have when it protects and finances terrorists in its territory?

The representative of Cuba to the Security Council of the United Nations (UN), Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reaffirmed his total and absolute support for President Nicolás Maduro for the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, and for their civic-military union.

“We demand unrestricted respect for the sovereignty, independence and right of Venezuela to freely decide its destiny without external interference,” he said. In his words, the Cuban spokesman added that “we alert the international community to these aggressions that seek to seize its natural resources (...)”

He pointed out that the United States (USA) speaks openly about covert actions and the CIA against Venezuela because it only seeks to increase pressure and escalate an aggression with unpredictable consequences for peace, security and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“It is hypocritical that the country with the main drug market in the world from whose territory this criminal business is financed promotes a war to supposedly combat this scourge in Latin America and the Caribbean, it is clear that its purpose is to attack Venezuela and impose its hegemonic domination in the hemisphere,” he said.
