In an operation of the National Risk Management System, together with the Miranda Fire Department and Civil Protection, the 26-year-old paraglider Minerva Morales, who had been reported missing since last Wednesday, May 1st, was located.

This was reported by the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, through his account on the social network X, in which he explained that the athlete is already accompanied by specialized rescuers and was successfully stabilized, waiting to be reunited with her family.

Ceballos also noted that the complexity of the terrain has required a coordinated effort to ensure a safe transfer to a health care facility.

“Due to the intricacy of the area, rescue work is being carried out until it is extracted and transported safely,” he said.

For his part, the Deputy Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Carlos Pérez Am, highlighted the efficient intervention of the Miranda Firefighters in the operation.

He noted that the athlete “was stabilized because she had a dislocated fracture of her right ankle. For the time, rescue and extraction operations are carried out at a healthcare center.”

The Fila de Cachicamo community and paragliding enthusiasts celebrate the favorable outcome of this mission, which demonstrates the effectiveness of authorities and emergency teams in these high-risk situations.
