At the Casa de los Saberes “Josefa Sulbarán”, in the Juan Ignacio Montilla parish in the Valera municipality, Trujillo state, the exhibition “Resistance that flourishes: a journey through the indigenous peoples of Venezuela” was inaugurated as part of the region's cultural activities.

The event, which was attended by cultural and community spokespersons from the Gran Mariscal Antonio José de Sucre Community Circuit, offers an in-depth look at the historical struggles of native peoples, whose cultural expressions are a symbol of identity and permanence.

Through selected pieces, the role of indigenous communities in the construction of collective memory and in the defense of their territories is recognized.

As part of the tour, a representation of the Wayúu ethnic group was incorporated, which stands out for its artisanal wealth and its current legacy. Attendees were able to appreciate fabrics, basketry, traditional clothing, wood and coconut sculptures, polychrome covers, clay modeling, typical toys and necklaces, elements that reflect the link between tradition and resistance.

The exhibition seeks to make ancient knowledge visible and promote respect for cultural diversity, in a space that articulates art with community organization.
