The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, during a press conference, stressed that presidential elections are a mandate of the Constitution.

“We have said that the dialogue is with you or without you, that the elections are with or without you (disabled), which is a mantle of the Constitution, it's not like some outdated people said: 'No, they're going to postpone it; no, they're going to do it first, not that they're going to do it in the year 2028, no; in the year 2024", he pointed out after the meeting of the day of dialogue with the Unitary Platform.

In this regard, he noted that the proposal of the Unitary Platform was received and will be analyzed, while stressing that this day completed the meetings with the wide spectrum of political parties.

“We want to insist that this is the way in which we democrats do things, those who have come to meetings to work, and not those who have second intentions, second agendas, agendas of violence,” he emphasized.

In addition, he reported that at six o'clock in the afternoon of this Monday, February 19, he will receive representatives of the political parties that previously participated and “who have already analyzed the draft that has been submitted to them and after this meeting has been held and have drafted the final draft agreement to be signed with all the actors who participated.”
