During an event commemorating the 200th anniversary of the founding of Bolivia, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the importance of this historic event, which today invites us to strengthen the union in the region.
“Today Bolívar calls on us more than ever to consolidate the union of our countries, and above all to remain firm in the defense of the independence of sovereignty, not to allow ourselves to be imposed by the empire any mandate other than the mandate of popular sovereignty; other than the mandate of our people,” emphasized Rodríguez from outside the National Pantheon accompanied by the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, among other figures of the High Government.
He warned that currently independence continues to be threatened by external factors that want to appropriate the resources and wealth that belong to the Peoples of South America.
“They intend to annihilate our gentiles, they intend to occupy our territories. It's the same historical truth and with that same historical truth we raised the flags of our liberators and celebrated the founding together with the people of Bolivia two centuries ago,” he emphasized.
He stressed that Venezuela has been characterized by being an anti-imperialist nation that left its lands to defend the other sister nations of the Spanish empire, while congratulating President Luis Arce and the people of the highlands for the Bicentennial of the favorite daughter of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.
