This Friday, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, said that his country is ready to continue its cooperation with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

“Our country's commitment to the objective of bringing the Treaty into force was reaffirmed, as well as its commitment to a voluntary moratorium on nuclear tests,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

After meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Organization, Robert Floyd, Lavrov thanked the CTBTO for maintaining the depoliticized nature of this energy in the midst of growing tensions on the world stage.

“We highly appreciate your commitment to maintaining the depoliticized nature of the functioning of the Provisional Secretariat of the Commission that you head,” he said.
