The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the extension of the list of people who are banned from entering the national territory as a direct response to the twentieth package of sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU).

The diplomatic institution specified that this restrictive measure includes representatives of European structures and community countries that have actively participated in decision-making related to military assistance to Ukraine. The Russian government explained that the sanctions also affect those who carry out activities aimed at undermining the territorial integrity of the nation.

The Moscow administration included in the list those officials responsible for the introduction of previous sanctions and those who have worked to damage Russia's relations with third countries.

According to the official statement, the entry ban extends to individuals who have created obstacles to maritime navigation and to people involved in what they described as the persecution of Russian officials under artificial pretexts.

The Ministry stressed that these actions seek to counteract the political and economic pressure exerted by European organizations against the federation's authorities.

The measure is also directed against those international actors who promote the establishment of a court against Russian authorities or who rule in favor of the illegal seizure of state funds.

The ministerial statement stressed that restrictions will apply to those who support the use of profits earned from Russian assets frozen abroad. With this update, the Kremlin reinforces its position vis-a-vis institutions that promote legal and financial mechanisms to sanction the Russian economy and its government representatives.

The Foreign Ministry reiterated that any hostile action by European Union countries will receive a proportionate and firm response from Russia.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the extension of this blacklist is an inevitable consequence of the confrontational policy adopted by Brussels, assuring that they will continue to monitor the decisions of European States to adjust their policies of reciprocity.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to defending national interests against what they consider to be foreign attempts to destabilize State sovereignty.
