During a press conference, the spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, confirmed her country's full willingness to intervene in the resolution of conflicts in the Persian Gulf and emphasized that Moscow is ready to “provide political and diplomatic assistance in order to contribute to the resolution of disagreements” affecting the stability of this strategic region.
The official stressed that Russia's priority is to establish an inclusive security framework. In this regard, Zakharova reaffirmed the commitment of the Vladimir Putin administration to “provide the necessary help in achieving this objective”, stressing that peace will only come through consensus. For the Kremlin, the key lies in a “constant stance in favor of regional dialogue and cooperation” between all the actors involved.
Russia advocates a model where Gulf nations resolve their differences without external pressure. Zakharova insisted that her country seeks to be a facilitating bridge, noting that “our efforts are aimed at creating a system of collective security” that minimizes the risks of armed confrontation. The diplomat insisted that respect for sovereignty must be the central axis of any future negotiations in the area.
The Foreign Ministry recalled that its proposal seeks to build mutual trust in the long term; Zakharova assured that it is imperative that the parties abandon hostile rhetoric, since Russia considers it “vital to develop joint response mechanisms to common challenges”. With this offer, Moscow reinforces its role as a key mediator in the Middle East, betting on preventive diplomacy to avoid new crises.
