The communications regulator of the Russian Federation, Roskomnadzor, reported, quoted by local media, that it was the subject of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, perpetrated against its official website.
According to Roskomnadzor, the servers that attack the agency's website are mainly located in the Russian Federation, as well as in the United States (USA), the People's Republic of China and several countries of the European Union (EU).
A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack seeks to disable a server, service or network by flooding it with fake traffic from multiple sources (botnets).
This Friday, it is specified that the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense was also the target of the cyberattack, Russia Today (RT) said.
