The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, reported on Monday that Ukraine tried to carry out a terrorist attack with 91 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles against the official residence of President Vladimir Putin, located in the province of Novgorod.

Lavrov explained that the attempted attack was carried out during the night of December 28 to 29 with drones, which were shot down by air defense systems and that there is no information of victims or damage.

“We want to highlight the fact that this action was carried out during intensive negotiations between Russia and the United States (US) to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Reckless actions like this will not go unanswered (...) The objectives of the response attacks and the time when they will be launched by the Russian Armed Forces have already been determined,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.

He indicated that Moscow does not intend to abandon negotiations with Washington that seek to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, but stressed that it is necessary to review its position in the negotiation, “taking into account the definitive transformation of the criminal regime in Kiev, which has started to apply a policy of State terrorism.”
