The Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, this Monday, December 1, announced his return to the country on the first regular flight from St. Petersburg and highlighted the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as his country's “unconditional” support for Venezuela in the midst of the hostile situation with the United States.
“I am pleased to inform you about my return to Venezuela. Taking advantage of the recently inaugurated regular flight from St. Petersburg (the heroic city of Leningrad), I have returned to the homeland of Bolivar, Chávez and Maduro,” said the diplomat in messages posted on his social networks.
The diplomat stressed that his trip to Russia focused on the participation of the Venezuelan delegation in the 19th meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), which resulted in the signing of several agreements in different areas of interest.
In his message, the ambassador recalled the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, referring to the defeat of fascism outside Moscow in December 1941, where, he said, “good always overcomes evil and truth prevails over lies”.
He also recalled the blockade suffered by Leningrad (St. Petersburg).
Mélik-Bagdasárov reiterated his nation's commitment, assuring that: “The Russian people, in these difficult times, remain unconditionally at the side of the people of Venezuela.”
