The Russian company Kamaz announced that it plans to install an assembly plant for buses and cargo vehicles in Venezuela, in cooperation with the Venezuelan company J.C. Internacional 2004 C.A.

“On November 7, PAO Kamaz and the Venezuelan company J.C. Internacional 2004 C.A. signed a memorandum of understanding in Caracas to supply the growing market of the Bolivarian Republic of Kamaz passenger cars and cargo vehicles,” said the Russian manufacturer.

The agreement, as reported by the Sputnik agency, states that “the parties are interested in launching in Venezuela a project to assemble special vehicles and buses on Kamaz chassis from assembly kits”.

In particular, these are medium-sized buses, dump trucks with a capacity of 20 tons and platforms for communal vehicles. The volume of deliveries is still being discussed.

The CEO of Kamaz, Sergei Kogoguin, stressed that the memorandum “opens up new perspectives” for the brand, well known in South America thanks to the victories in several editions of the Dakar rally that were held on the continent from 2009 to 2019.

“A leading manufacturer with extensive experience in the production of trucks and passenger cars in Russia, Kamaz can now help Venezuela in the development of this segment,” said the executive.
