Russian Foreign Minister to visit Cuba, Venezuela and Brazil next week

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this Wednesday, the 14th, that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, will tour Latin America between February 19 and 22.

Through its account on the social network X, the Russian Foreign Ministry explained that Minister Lavrov plans to visit the nations of Cuba and Venezuela, and will also participate in the meeting of foreign heads of the Group of Twenty (G20) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He notes that the Russian Foreign Minister will visit Cuba on February 19 and will hold talks with President Miguel Díaz-Canel and his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

On the social network Telegram, he indicates that conversations with Cuban partners will focus on pressing issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as on the global and regional agenda.

The parties will discuss strengthening the strategic partnership between Moscow and Havana on the basis of deepening political dialogue and strengthening ties in the commercial and economic, financial and investment, scientific and technical, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

It is also scheduled that on February 20, Lavrov will carry out a mission to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. During the visit, meetings are planned with the President of the South American country, Nicolás Maduro, and the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, as well as negotiations with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil.

From February 21 to 22, Foreign Minister Lavrov will participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where current problems on the global agenda will be examined, with an emphasis on the resolution of geopolitical conflicts and the reform of world economic institutions.
