The Kremlin announced that the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the US president, Donald Trump, will hold a new phone call in the coming days, Telesur said.
The confirmation was made by presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov, who said that Moscow expects to receive direct information on the results of the meeting this Sunday in Mar-a-Lago, in the state of Florida (south) between Trump and the leader of the Ukrainian regime, Volodymir Zelenski.
Peskov stressed that the communication between the two leaders will take place “very soon” and that Russia will evaluate the political and diplomatic scope of the meeting based on information provided by Washington, particularly with regard to peace talks with Ukraine and the development of phase two of the ceasefire plan in Gaza.
According to the spokesman, the Kremlin agrees with Trump's assessment that “peace in Ukraine has come significantly closer”, although it conditioned this scenario on the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces beyond the administrative borders of Donbas to stop the clashes.
He also added that there is growing unrest in sectors of the European Union, where “many leaders are anxious to continue the conflict” while facing electoral difficulties.
