The Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME), reported that the identification process for older adults is being maintained, both at the headquarters in Maturín and in the trailer in Punta de Mata, Ezequiel Zamora municipality.
According to information provided by Sandra Montes, state coordinator of SAIME, this process is “without appointment”.
He also indicated that since November 2023, SAIME incorporated the card processing service for people over 60 years of age directly into its offices, to facilitate services for the elderly and since then the service has issued more than 3,500 identity cards to the entity's grandparents.
Montes specified that the identification process for older adults is “permanent”, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
“At Saime, we are ready to offer the best service to our grandparents,” Montes said, adding that the issuance of an identity card takes place the same day, “an achievement that allows only one trip to the SAIME headquarters closest to their home.”
