The 21st edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN), Táchira chapter, will take place between December 3 and 5 in the “Ateneo del Táchira” Reading Room, San Cristóbal municipality, with the motto “Reading humanizes”.
The event will include book presentations, editorial news from the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture through the houses El Perro y la Rana, Monte Ávila and Biblioteca Ayacucho, as well as talks, conferences and workshops.
In the same way, girls, boys and young people will have the traditional children's and youth pavilion, a space dedicated to the promotion of reading in the new generations.
This time, the fair will pay regional tribute to Luis Hernández, the official chronicler of San Cristóbal, vice-president of the Chroniclers Association and member of the state's Academy of History. Hernández, also a musician and specialist in Cultural Management, was declared an Illustrious Son of the municipality in July 2023.
The program seeks to consolidate FILVEN as a space for cultural and academic encounter, where reading is promoted and links with national and regional identity are strengthened. The diversity of activities will allow the participation of different sectors of Tachirense society.
