Scientific community is called to participate in an international course on radiological emergencies

The Venezuelan Scientific and Technological Center Foundation and the National Center for Development and Research in Telecommunications Technologies (Cendit) invite the scientific community and the general public to participate in a new international course on management and response to radiological emergencies.

The course, entitled Management, Intervention and Response to Radiological Emergencies and Accidents in Nuclear Power Plants, is carried out as part of the Latin American Network for Education and Training in Nuclear Technology (Lanent) and is aimed, in particular, at those who completed the introductory course Nuclear Energy and Radiological Protection in 2026, reported the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

Developed in collaboration with the Salvadoran Association for Radiological Protection (ASPR), the program will be 100% virtual and self-managed, allowing participants to manage their own pace of learning without neglecting their professional responsibilities. The program includes basic concepts on ionizing radiation, zoning techniques, accident classification, management of radioactive sources and protocols in case of accidents during transport, among other topics.

Those who meet the academic requirements will receive a certificate recognized by the Lanent Network and by the ASPR. Applications must be submitted by October 14, 2026 and classes will begin on October 21.
