A group of 38 boys and girls from the Juan Ángel Bravo Bolivarian School, located in the Rómulo Gallegos municipality of the state of Cojedes, participated in a workshop designed by the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (Fundacite) to awaken their scientific vocation.
This initiative of the National Program of Scientific Seedbeds seeks to promote curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in new generations.
The workshop, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, began with an introduction to basic safety regulations in the laboratory, imitating the daily practices of scientists.
Later, the “Caravan of Chemistry” kit was presented, which included practical experiments to teach basic scientific concepts in a playful and accessible way.
Notable simulations included color lamination, volcanic eruption, color modulation, pigment diffusion, and water sucking the ball.
These training workshops, promoted by Mincyt, are of great importance in promoting and disseminating science among children and adolescents, since they awaken research interest in them, as well as offering them a different and more friendly vision of scientific work.
