Second phase of the Venezuela Renace Games kicked off in Gran Caracas

The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, announced this Saturday the start of the second phase of the Venezuela Renace 2026 Sports Games, with the participation of eight temporary camps in the eastern region of Greater Caracas.

“We are in phase number two of these Venezuela Renace Games with competitions between camps in the same state,” said the minister, who recalled that the initiative was born under the guidance of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, in order to bring sports and recreation to families affected by the double seismic that are in temporary camps.

Cardillo stressed that the purpose of the games transcends competitive results, according to a press release from the Ministry of Sports.

“From here, the champions of each sports discipline will come out to go to that last phase, or to continue training, but above all having fun, bringing joy, physical activity and recreation,” he said.

For his part, the Secretary of Sports of the Government of Miranda, Wilmer Rivas, reported that 531 athletes have been registered in the state's camps, of which 22 of the 28 existing ones are active. During the day, the disciplines of 3x3 basketball, under-14 futsal and mini athletics were developed, with 37 children participating in the latter.
