The sectoral vice-president of Politics,
Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported this Friday that state security agencies arrested the extreme right-wing opposition Juan Pablo Guanipa, who was acting as the head of the terrorist group that sought to cause destabilization, ahead of the elections on Sunday, May 25.
Cabello announced that the authorities captured “early today, one of the leaders of this powerful terrorist group; not powerful, dark”. He described that it was “a clean capture and total and absolute respect for the human rights of citizen Juan Pablo Guanipa Villalobos, who is one of the leaders of this terrorist network that is trying to boycott the elections on Sunday, May 25,” he said at a press conference.
In this regard, he indicated that Guanipa “boasted, mocked, thought he was untouchable, invisible, but for the security agencies of the Venezuelan State they have demonstrated, by their efficiency, to our people that there is no one invisible here.”
He noted that at the place of capture, notebooks and agendas were found containing information about groups, funding and more about their destabilizing plans.
He specified that information from colleagues in neighborhoods and communities was essential for the process of dismantling this group, since they were the ones who warned that there were people offering money to generate violence and that others were arriving who had already left.
He reaffirmed that State Security agencies continue to dismantle this terrorist group in perfect popular-military-police union.
He recalled that last Monday, 38 people were arrested, of whom 21 were Venezuelans and 17 were foreign citizens, who had electric detonators that were going to be used in embassies, public service stations, hospitals and against personalities of the Revolution and opposition participating in elections.
