The Superintendent of the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), José David Cabello Rondón, together with the Deputy Ministers of Finance and Public Budget, Christiam Hernández; and of Productive Economy, Saúl Ameliach; both from the Ministry of the People's Power of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, launched the new Non-Intrusive Inspection Circuit (CINI) of the La Guaira Main Customs Office.
This is a rapid scanning device, which is a tool that allows obtaining high-quality detailed images, facilitating the identification of hidden objects and suspicious substances, and also identifies materials such as: undeclared merchandise, weapons, explosives and contraband.
In addition, it is compatible with other security and data management systems, facilitating information and the generation of detailed reports for analysis, while complying with international security standards.
In this regard, Cabello Rondón said that this investment positions Venezuela at a high level in terms of customs control and makes it possible to speed up inspection processes, reported Prensa SENIAT.
“Today it is possible to have this great breakthrough that benefits all those who import, industries and businessmen. With the existing equipment, approximately 20 containers were checked every half hour, and at that same time, between 60 and 80 containers will now be inspected without stopping at any time. This is what is called Revolution in progress,” he said.
