SENIAT Superintendent oversaw the reactivation of the processes in the Port of La Guaira

The superintendent of the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), Román Maniglia, oversaw the reactivation of processes at the Port of La Guaira to expedite the entry of merchandise and products into the country.

“We are verifying the progressive, rapid and sustained reactivation of the processes that make it possible to import, receive goods and customs management,” he said in a message on the SENIAT Telegram account.

In the message, he attached a video showing the day when he was accompanied by the first vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of La Guaira, Cipriana Ramos, with whom he exchanged views on the progress made in the recovery of work.

“Here we are doing the fastest processes so that this (the products) is nationalized and economic activity reaches its most optimal level and preparing for the coming months, which are the busiest months in the Venezuelan economy,” he said.

During the day, Maniglia explained that the contingency caused by the earthquakes of June 24 will be addressed with a special day to speed up the processes for the entry of products through the port. “We are going to make a contingency and then improve the processes so that this is not a contingency, but is part of the process,” he added.

He stressed that the work of SENIAT in the Port of La Guaira is carried out jointly with Bolivariana de Puertos and other national entities related to this important point of entry and exit of goods to the country.

“We accelerate the management of import and export loads to boost both domestic and international trade, successfully overcoming the contingency,” he said.

Maniglia emphasized respect for agile, safe and adequate customs administrative performance. “At the same time we comply with the necessary regulations and controls, also guaranteeing the payment of the corresponding taxes,” he said.
