The Somos Guaicaipura Foundation began preparations for the
XVIII edition of the Los Teques Theater Festival and opened the call for the
reception of theatrical proposals that will form part of the
event program, whose application process will be available until August 30, 2026.
According to information from the festival's Instagram account, the
call is free and is aimed at theater groups
based in the central region of the country, including professional,
community, student and university companies, as well as proposals of all genres and modalities.
The proposed
works may have a free theme, provided that they respect the
principles established in the Constitution, and must be adapted to the different conventional and unconventional
spaces provided by the organization.
The festival
program includes four main axes: general audience,
with works of various genres for the theaters of Los Teques; children, with
plays of up to 45 minutes for squares and parks; community and student,
aimed at schools, hospitals, grandparents' homes, children's shelters and
communities; in addition to the training axis, which includes workshops, master classes and theatrical training activities.
Proposals must have a minimum duration of 45 minutes and a
maximum of 90 minutes. In the case of groups with permanent headquarters in the Guaicaipura
municipality, they may present shows to premiere during the
festival, accompanied by a video of the general rehearsal of the work.
The evaluation committee will take into account
the artistic quality, the relevance to the programming axes and the
social and inclusive impact of the proposals. Interested groups should
send to [email protected] the curriculum summary of the
company and its directors, synopsis of the work, artistic and technical data sheets, high-resolution
photographs of the show, critical reviews (optional), a
link to the recording of the work and contact details.
