This Thursday, the Government of Spain reported that 36,650 people were rescued during the last day after the damage caused most of them in the Community of Valencia following the passage of the Isolated Depression at High Levels (DANA).
The number of deaths due to the heavy rains and floods that hit Spain rose to 219, the country's government said. Of these, 211 were from the Valencian Community, seven from Castilla-La Mancha and one from Andalusia.
More than 8,000 Army personnel are participating in mitigating the consequences of rains and floods in the country, including 16 psychologists and psychiatrists.
More than 9,000 agents of the State security forces and bodies, 12 helicopters and 27 search dogs also collaborate.
DANA is a phenomenon in which a very cold polar air mass is isolated and begins to circulate at very high altitudes (between 5 thousand and 9 thousand meters), far from the influence of the circulation of the atmosphere.
