Supreme Court admits Contentious Electoral Appeal introduced by President Maduro and cites candidates on August 2

The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), accepted the Contentious Electoral Appeal filed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, regarding the 2024 Presidential Election and issued a summons to all the candidates who participated in the electoral contest to appear before this instance on Friday, August 02.
This was reported by the president of this chamber and president of the Supreme Court, Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez, in a statement to the media, in which she specified that with this measure, the 10 electoral candidates who participated in the above-mentioned elections must submit the voting records issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
“This room assumes the defense of peace and democracy,” he said.
He pointed out that in this way the process of investigating what happened before, during and after the process begins.
He indicated that the electoral chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice is committed to peace, democracy and the pursuit of the constitutional order of the Republic, ensuring that the will of the voters receives effective and timely judicial protection.
