A total of 16 interventions were carried out during the first day of the Surgical Plan of the year 2025 at the Dr. Tulio López Ramírez Hospital in Barrancas del Orinoco, in the Sotillo municipality.

Among the pathologies treated, the following stand out: umbilical and inguinal hernias of 11 children from Barrancas del Orinoco and 5 children from the parish of Los Barrancos de Fajardo.

The government specified that the patients were recruited and evaluated by the hospital's medical team and the Municipal Institute for Women in Sotillo.

The mayor, José “Cheo” Maldonado, explained that thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro, and with the support of Governor Ernesto Luna, through the Single Health Authority, Dr. Yerika Alzolay, they have reinforced hospital care, with the purpose of increasing the number of surgeries during 2025 and thus guaranteeing a free and quality service.

The director of the aforementioned healthcare center, Dr. Jalexys Tamaronis, highlighted that 40 doctors (specialists and residents) participated in the operation, to whom she expressed gratitude and support for carrying out solutions with standards of quality and commitment.
