Surgical Plan has performed more than 17,380 low and medium complexity operations in Sucre

The president pointed out that thanks to the National Government, through the Ministry of Health, patients have been guaranteed pre-operative exams, as well as post-operative treatment, totally free of charge

A total of 17,384 low- and medium-complexity operations have been carried out in the state of Sucre so far in 2024, through the Surgical Plan promoted by the National Government, as reported by the governor of the eastern entity, Gilberto Pinto.

The regional president specified that the operations are carried out by the professional staff of the Regional Foundation for Health (FUNDASALUD) and the Barrio Adentro Mission, in the Integral Community Health Areas (ASIC) of the region.

The pathologies treated are inguinal and bilateral hernias, sterilizations, pre-auricular appendages, umbilical hernias, varicocele, hydroceles, lipomas, and others.

With regard to patient recruitment, it was known that it has been carried out through social approaches, carried out by medical teams with communal structures.
