Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo ready to host the III 2025 Community Games

All the logistics are ready for the 1st and 2nd Municipal Sports Games 2025, which will take place from December 07 to 18, with the Andean states as their headquarters: Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo.

In its national phase, 1,364 athletes will participate in the disciplines chess, baseball five, boxing, karate, weightlifting, swimming, volleyball and traditional games such as metras, perinola and spinning top.

The general director of the Promotion of Student Sports and Physical Education of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education, Alejandro Herrera, indicated that in the Andean region everything is ready to carry out these games, which seek to expand physical activity, sports and recreation in the country's communities.

“We must thank and recognize the enormous effort of our sports governor Gerardo Márquez and his entire team for the extraordinary processes of coordination, planning and programming to ensure that the 25 states of the country that are going to visit us during this date can be served in the best way,” he said.

For his part, the governor of the state of Trujillo, Gerardo Márquez, was grateful to the National Executive for taking Trujillo together with the states of Mérida and Táchira as venues for this new edition of the communal sports games.

“We have prepared with great conscience for these games, in terms of logistics, in everything technical, we have had the support of the National Government for the recovery of sports facilities,” he said.

He also stated that “we have been with Professor Alejandro Herrera since last week reviewing and inspecting each of the facilities. Trujillo will host seven sports disciplines, and three traditional games such as metra, trompo and perinola”.

He assured that the entity is ready to receive all the sports delegations that will participate in these national games, including Guiana Essequiba; he also mentioned that Trujillo will be represented with 277 athletes in the disciplines athletics, para-athletics, chess, futsal, baseball five, volleyball, karate do, judo, 3×3 and 5×5 basketball, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, table tennis, boxing, weightlifting, swimming, kickingball, wrestling, physical activity for the elderly and collective class.

“It fills us with enthusiasm to welcome athletes from all over the country who will demonstrate their effort, discipline and passion in an environment of healthy competition and brotherhood. This will be a great opportunity to strengthen ties, promote the values of sport and show the country the warmth and hospitality of our Trujillo people,” he said.

The regional president stated that the sports spaces provided for this contest were recovered through the Ministry of the People's Power of Public Works together with the infrastructure team of the state government; likewise, he asserted that lodging, logistics, security deployment and medical care are guaranteed for all participants.
