The Special Economic Zones (SEZ) project in the state of Táchira continues to move forward with the objective of boosting production and consolidating a solid base for economic development in the region.
At a press conference, the governor of the entity, Freddy Bernal, specified that this initiative, which unites efforts between Venezuela and Colombia, seeks to strengthen cross-border trade, attract strategic investments and promote economic progress in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.
He emphasized the importance of the Binational Economic Border Zone as a fundamental pillar for boosting prosperity, not only for the state, but for the entire country.
Bernal considered that the creation of these spaces represents an opportunity to boost exports and imports, in addition to attracting investment in areas such as agriculture, agro-industry and tourism.
The project also plans to promote cultural and business development in Táchira, with a view to transforming the region into a benchmark for sustainable and productive growth.
It also seeks to align these initiatives with national development priorities, to encourage cooperation between public and private sectors.
With this plan, it is expected to create favorable conditions to strengthen the regional and national economy, in order to generate employment and consolidate a sustainable platform that guarantees benefits both for the inhabitants of the state of Táchira and for the border communities.
During the meeting, Bernal was accompanied by candidates for the National Assembly (AN) and the regional Legislative Council.
He pointed out that the opposition sectors lack a concrete plan for the development of the region, while the revolutionary forces continue to focus on the transformative policies promoted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
