The Secretary of International Affairs and World Victory of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Tania Díaz, vindicated the
Bolivarian and socialist character of the Revolution promoted by Commander Hugo
Chávez as a political project in Venezuela.
“We want to say it clearly: We are Bolivarians, we
are not progressive, we are socialists,” said Díaz during his
speech at the 30th International Seminar on Parties and a New
Society, which is being held in Mexico City.
He also highlighted the unity of Chavism and maintained that, based on the
principles of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, Venezuela will not promote divisions
between Bolivarian and socialist movements in the region.
“From Venezuela you are not going to receive any expression of confrontation
between brothers, much less between Bolivarian brothers,” he said, stressing
that unity is essential to face political challenges and preserve
the Bolivarian project.
Díaz also referred to the words of President Delcy Rodríguez about the Simon Bolivar project and the Monroe Doctrine, stressing that today this is still the historical confrontation because they are irreconcilable models.
“That's why it's not going to be from Venezuela that any division will be promoted,
no quarrel like Santander did 200 years ago, and the Panamanian
Amphictyonic Congress was aborted, no, that's not going to be Venezuela's position (...) we're not only consolidating unity, but we're preserving it as the
greatest value we have right now, because we know that if we divide, they'll annihilate
us,” he reiterated.
In this sense, he confirmed that the Venezuelan political project is still
Chavism and Bolivarian Socialism of the 21st Century, promoted by Commander
Chávez, whom he liked to describe with the approach of the Peruvian thinker
José Carlos Mariátegui about the construction of a socialism that was not a
copy of other experiences, but rather his own creation based on the reality of peoples.
Finally, Díaz recognized the 30-year history of the Labor Party and highlighted this space as a meeting point for formation and political debate among colleagues.
