This Tuesday, the attorney general of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, presented new evidence surrounding the PDVSA-Cripto corruption scheme, which reveals an extortive media structure led by former Petroleum Minister Tareck El Aissami.
“In a new confession, Samark López reported that El Aissami had at its service an extortive media structure used to attack people who did not align with their plans or interests,” William Saab said at a press conference.
In a video shown by the prosecutor, López mentioned Daniel Lara Farías, Wender Villalobos, Norbey Marín, Sebastiana Barráez, Maibort Petit who were participating in this scheme. It also states that El Aissami had a relationship with the ArmandoInfo portal, run by Roberto Deniz and Ewald Scharfenberg.
He stressed that “Juan Almeida was responsible for multiplying the impact of these campaigns through ghost accounts that they paid and maintained through social networks such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, among others”
William Saab revealed that El Aissami had a phantom payroll, paid by one of its financial operators Joselit Ramírez, of “suspected communicators, many of them designated as longliners, to launch dirty war campaigns against a person or a group. They talk about extortions of 30,000 to 100,000 dollars,” he said.
