Before the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, the Venezuelan right systematically violated the human rights of the population at different times, some more fatal than others. Such is the case of the Tazón Massacre, on September 19, 1984, in puntofixism.

At that time, the country was under the “democratic” command of adeco Jaime Lusinchi, when 200 Agronomy students from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), who were on board four buses, were shot down by National Guard officers, who prevented them from arriving in Caracas to take part in a protest to demand better study conditions, such as scholarships, dining room and preferential passage.

Crowded buses arrived from Maracay and were met with crossfire at the Tazón toll booth, at the entrance to the capital, because of a terrible and macabre convergence of a drunken president, an irresponsible minister - Octavio Lepage -, a crazy psychiatrist rector - Edmundo Chirinos -, an inexperienced commander - José Vicuña - and some young rebels demanding their rights.

In the dramatic scene, with indiscriminate gunfire, from the roof to the rubbers of the buses, 34 students were injured. The military courts closed the case and the detained and confiscated buses never returned. But these are the characters who want to rule the country again, with new faces and some of the old school, supported by the gringo empire and its lackeys.

41 years after the fateful action, the Venezuelan people pay tribute to the fallen and are standing up in the fight for essential rights, in defense of the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Government.
