The governor of the state of La Guiara, José Alejandro Terán, during the Long March commemorating January 23 to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores , said only Commander Hugo Chávez deepened democracy Venezuelan.

In that sense, he explained that the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution deepened the “concept of participatory, leading, popular democracy; but Nicolás Maduro took it to a level of direct democracy, a communal democracy where the people are not only limited to the exercise of political and electoral rights, but the people have to do with decision-making, with all the issues that are of public life.”

He also added that the people took to the streets to “demand from the whole world that international justice be done, that the international legal system, which has been trampled on by the United States government, be vindicated.”
