Terrorists had the material to produce more than 100,000 ammunition of different calibers (+seizure)

Among the weapons and equipment seized by State security forces, in a procedure reported this Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, enough material was found to manufacture almost 100,000 ammunition of different calibers.

According to reports from the Interior, Justice and Peace portfolio, among the confiscated material, 195 lead ingots were found; 98,540 warheads of different calibers; 223 canisters of gunpowder; 16 bottles of propellant powder to make high-caliber ammunition; 33,000 small pistol primers; 25,000 thousand small rifle primers; three grenades; six 500-gram TNT boosters; 1 81-millimeter mortar shell; 2 high-caliber ammunition.

Also, in the arsenal there were 2,523 ammunition distributed in: 300 5.56 mm cartridges; 200 cartridges caliber 7.62 x 51 mm; a thousand cartridges caliber .22 mm; 220 cartridges caliber 6.5 mm; 524 cartridges caliber 6 mm; 120 cartridges caliber 338 mm; 12 cartridges caliber 12; 47 cartridges caliber .40; and 100 cartridges caliber .50.

In addition, there were 17 gun heads; 30 firearm grips; 25 firearm magazines of different calibers; 18 lower; 9 guns of different calibers; 5 black rifle case boxes; 7 reloading machines and their accessories; 2 sound suppressors (silencers); and 3 hearing aid units.

Among the weapons found were a carbine; twenty-three sniper rifles; two shotguns; a pneumatic rifle-type weapon.

It is important to remember that among the sniper rifles there were two of .50 mm caliber, which have a high destructive capacity, because the large size of their ammunition is capable of penetrating armor, some construction materials and even shooting down helicopters.

In this regard, Minister Cabello reported that these seized .50 caliber rifles had also been added a telescopic sight and a silencer. “Weapons experts say they've never seen this before, they shoot with this gun, aim with this sight and no one listens.”

He stressed that behind this arsenal is the leader of the extreme right, María Corina Machado and the fugitive from justice, Iván Simonovis. “This (the rifles) has the seal of María Corina Machado and Iván Simonovis (...) It amazes us, not because we think that the opposition is not capable; these rifles are capable of doing a lot of damage,” he said.
