The 2026 Indigenous Intercommunity Games begin in the Kumarakapay area in the Bolivar state

In order to promote the integration of indigenous peoples, the 2026 Indigenous Intercommunity Games are being held in the Kumarakapay area, in the Gran Sabana municipality of Bolívar state, an area of influence of the Guayana Esequiba state.

Governor Neil Villamizar explained that more than 2,500 athletes from the state of Guayana Esequiba, as well as from Bolivar and Brazil participate in this healthy competition.

He also thanked the captains general, indigenous captains, the Indigenous Federation and the entire organizing committee for this event that unites and transcends new generations over time.

He also extended his congratulations and wished success to the Guayana Esequiba delegation that is participating; thanking the regional sports secretary, Lex Almeida, for his efforts to have representation in this competition.

Villamizar highlighted that 66 indigenous communities are participating and that this is a party to continue in the rebirth of the Homeland.

He invited all citizens to enjoy the different disciplines with their families: “Sport unites us, with sport we make our homeland; enjoy with joy, enthusiasm and responsibility. Let's move on,” he said.

He assured that these games are a true demonstration of the union that must prevail among all Venezuelans, congratulating the godmothers for their performance and for the sense of development of the original peoples.

During the activity, Governor Neil Villamizar and the mayor of Gran Sabana, Manuel de Jesús Vallez, delivered uniforms to the different delegations that will participate in the 2026 Indigenous Intercommunity Games.
