Under the motto “Reading humanizes”, the 21st Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN) will arrive this coming Thursday, December 4th, at the Pío Tamayo Public Library in Barquisimeto, Lara State, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with multiple activities scheduled to promote reading and critical thinking.

The event will have regional writers honored by historian Rolando Graterol and teacher Mirna Víes. On a national scale, FILVEN pays tribute to Judith Valencia, Juan Calzadilla, Esteban Emilio Mosonyi, Gonzalo Fragui and Marc de Civrieux.

The public will be able to enjoy the literary news of The Dog and the Frog, Monte Ávila Editores Latinoamericana and Biblioteca Ayacucho, as well as various public and private publishers. In addition, the fair will serve as a stage for encounter and dialogue with book presentations, talks, forums, recitals and musical presentations.

From an early age, the Children's Pavilion will be available to boys and girls with workshops, readings and plays focused on promoting writing, creativity, knowledge and values in the new generation of readers.

The 21st FILVEN Lara is organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), through the National Book Center (CENAL), in partnership with the State Government, the Mayor's Office of the Iribarren municipality and several institutions of the entity.
