Under the motto “Reading humanizes”, the 21st Venezuelan
International Book Fair (FILVEN) will arrive this coming Thursday, December 4th, at the Pío Tamayo
Public Library in Barquisimeto, Lara State, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with
multiple activities scheduled to promote reading and critical thinking.
The event will have regional writers
honored by historian Rolando Graterol and teacher Mirna Víes. On a national
scale, FILVEN pays tribute to Judith Valencia, Juan Calzadilla,
Esteban Emilio Mosonyi, Gonzalo Fragui and Marc de Civrieux.
The public will be able to enjoy the
literary news of The Dog and the Frog, Monte Ávila Editores Latinoamericana and
Biblioteca Ayacucho, as well as various public and private publishers.
In addition, the fair will serve as a stage for encounter and dialogue with book
presentations, talks, forums, recitals and musical presentations.
From
an early age, the Children's Pavilion will be available to boys and girls with workshops, readings and
plays focused on promoting writing, creativity, knowledge and values in the new
generation of readers.
The 21st FILVEN Lara is organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), through the National Book Center (CENAL), in partnership with the State Government, the Mayor's Office of the Iribarren municipality and several institutions of the entity.
