The Bolivarian Government estimates a harvest of 17 million kilos of rice between March and April 2026

The Minister of Popular Power for Communes
and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, indicated that for 2026 a
harvest of 17 million kilos of rice is estimated for the period between March and April,
through a communal plan.
During his participation in the Al
Aire program, he highlighted that in an axis that expands from Sabaneta, Barinas; to
Elorza, Apure; that he intends to develop a meat production plan, as well as
a cereal plan in the Guarique towns of Tucupido, Valle de la
Pascua and Zaraza, while in the state of Zulia, the fish industry will be working.
He recalled that a total of 23,000
communal projects were fully completed, and another 10,000 remain in full
execution throughout the national territory. “What is being done is
to democratize production in this country,” he said.
The Minister emphasized that the intention is to
promote communes as economic agents, which includes initiatives
to relaunch coffee cultivation in Venezuelan territory, in order to protect the
prices of coffee and the coffee farmer with respect to roads and fuel.
“We managed to export coffee that comes from the
communes, that we industrialized it from the communal model, which was
exported to the United States and Italy,” he said.
