Nearly 900 schools have been rehabilitated so far in 2025, with an average of 140 schools recovered monthly, said Education Minister Héctor Rodríguez.

“We have managed to exceed the goal we set for ourselves and we are not going to rest until they are all in good condition,” Rodríguez said during the supervision of the Dr. Francisco Espejo State Educational Unit, in Petare, Miranda state.

In addition, according to a press release from the Education portfolio, he urged the community to monitor that renovated schools are properly maintained to last the rehabilitation work carried out jointly by the national government, at its three levels, and the communities.

Regarding the school year that ends on July 18, the minister said: “It has been a good year compared to last year. We increased the number of students, the class schedule.”

Rodríguez noted that complying with full class hours ensures that children can address all academic content.

He said that 190,000 specialist teachers are being trained this year, “which will help improve educational quality.”
