The Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, in an interview broadcast by Globovision, reported that the Public Ministry (MP) has succeeded in returning 3,000 properties to their owners.
In that regard, he explained that the institution in record time has achieved positive results for these landlords, who are mostly elderly between 70 and 90 years old, who have reported illegal occupation by their tenants.
“If a tenant signed a contract 10 or 15 years ago and it expired 3 years ago, he's not a tenant, he's an invader,” Saab said.
For this reason, he urged those who support this practice not to hinder the work of the Public Ministry, and added that there have been more than 9,600 complaints of this type.
He also asked users to “lose their fear of reporting (...) we open many complaints through elements such as audios, photos they give us”.
