The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, offered this Wednesday an assessment of the different programs carried out by the Public Ministry (MP), in areas of guaranteeing the right to justice.
From the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Saab pointed out that the program The Public Ministry goes to your community, which takes place once a week in Bolivar squares in the most remote municipalities and seeks to provide direct attention to the people, has received a total of 3,733 complaints and provided 27,500 guidelines; since its creation in 2022.
Another of the programs developed by the institution is the Public Ministry Responds to Your Complaint in the Parish, which consists of “a monthly nationwide deployment of the Attorney General, senior prosecutors, general managers and line managers in nerve centers”; which has handled 1,148 people and received 75 complaints in 291 spaces.
In addition, “41 irregularities were detected and 1,173 guidelines were given”.
Regarding the plan aimed at guaranteeing the rights of the elderly, he said that since April 2023, “8,323 complaints of crimes have been received and 18,27 guidelines have been provided, for a total of 26,350 older adults treated.”
In addition, he added that “in this period, 1,752 property refunds have been achieved to elderly people who suffered the occupation or invasion of their home or premises.”
