The System will celebrate 50th anniversary with 80 concerts across Venezuela

With a total of 80 concerts distributed over five musical routes across the country, from April 24 to May 11, Vive El Sistema Fest will be held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela.
The festival's executive director, Eduardo Méndez, said that this is “a key opportunity to make the musical potential and the diversity of genres of orchestras visible nationally and internationally.”
The Symphonic Route will present concerts by El Sistema orchestras and professional academic music orchestras. The Venezuelan Route will highlight the roots of traditional music. The Eclectic Route will offer special jazz and symphonic rock ensembles. The Caribbean Route will showcase Latin-Caribbean music and urban rhythms. For its part, the Family Route will provide educational and interactive experiences for the whole family, according to a press release.
The event will have more than 20 special guests, including figures such as vibraphonist Alfredo Naranjo, rapper Mcklopedia, Anibal Hamilton, Joseph Amado, Lion Lazaro, The Perfect Melody, Juan Miguel, Rafa and Chinin, among others, and will feature around 8,000 musicians from all over the country who will come together to perform traditional Venezuelan, Latin-Caribbean music, as well as jazz, rock and other experimental fusions.
