The XIX Ciudad Cumaná Open Water Championship 2026 begins

This Thursday, the tournament of the XIX Ciudad Cumaná Open Water Championship 2026 will be held, under the organization of the Venezuelan Water Sports Federation.

The event will include representatives from Anzoátegui, Aragua, Barinas, Bolívar, Carabobo, Caracas, La Guaira, Miranda, Monagas, Nueva Esparta and Sucre in a competition that will bring together exponents from 14 years old to the master categories, according to the press release of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sport.

The call includes the women's and men's branches in the pre-child, children, youth, maximum and master categories, the latter with their respective groups by age range.

The distances will be distributed according to each division: 200 meters for pre-children, 2 kilometers for children, 3 kilometers for master's degrees and 5 and 10 kilometers for juveniles and maximum.

‎‎El Wednesday, September 3, the technical congress and the marking of the athletes will take place, and Thursday will correspond to the cross-country events of the National Championship with distances of 5 and 10 kilometers.

Saturday will be the turn of the 200-meter, 2 and 3-kilometer competitions, in addition to the award ceremony.

The competition will be scoring for the national ranking, so the results will have an impact on the classification of athletes within the open water competitive calendar.
