The XXI Oriente 2024 Sports Games ended with total success

The Closing Ceremony of the XXI Oriente 2024 Sports Games was successfully held this Sunday, November 24, at the Yulimar Rojas National Athletics Center in the state of Anzoátegui.

“This is the Venezuela we want, the one we dream of. Today in these games there is affirmative Venezuela, of values, of disciplines and of truth,” said Héctor Rodríguez, Sectorial Vice President of Social and Territorial Socialism during the closing of the event.

He highlighted the talent of the athletes, and thanked the organizing committee for making this competition possible, which demonstrates how valuable it is to encourage sports in the country.

“These were the best games, where 1,831 medals were awarded in 57 disciplines, 6,935 athletes, 1,622 coaches, 1,326 referees, 6,107 health and safety officials, 560 volunteers in three states of our nation participated. In addition, 39 sports facilities have been equipped for the eastern region of the country,” he said.

He called on the 25 regional authorities to activate sports talent schools and continue to invest in infrastructure and sports spaces.

“It is here, in this beautiful Venezuela, where absolutely no storm is going to hurt our spirits and our will to build a better country,” he concluded.

During the sporting event, trophies were awarded to the first three states that stood out in this national competition: Miranda (First) with 262 medals, which became the two-time champion of the Oriente 2024 Sports Games, Caracas (second) with 205 medals and Carabobo (third) with 178 medals.

For its part, the state of Sucre was recognized for being the entity with the highest growth in the Games in terms of 13% effectiveness.
