These are the winners of the Cumbe San Agustín Film Festival (+closing)

At the Alameda Theater in San Agustín del Sur, Caracas, the third edition of the Cumbe San Agustín Film Festival closed with the announcement of the winners.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, in this edition, about 200 works by filmmakers from all over the country were nominated and sixty of them were selected, in the categories of feature film (fiction and documentary) and short film (fiction and documentary).

The winning works of the Cumbe San Agustín — UNFPA award for addressing issues associated with the prevention of gender-based violence were: first of all The Zionist, by Adriana Bello; with special mention Jevita, by Víctor Piña; and The Anointed by Argenis Herrera.

The CNAC — Cumbe San Agustín Award was awarded for best documentary short film to Luis García for his work Cantos de Faena and two special mentions: Where do you come from? by Víctor Hugo Rivera and The Broken Goddess by Ximena Pereira. Carlos Novella's radio won first place in the best fiction short film category and special mentions were awarded to Interior, Night by Juan Pablo Pérez and to the play Nocturne No. 1 by Isaías Nero Castro and Nedith Borges.

The best documentary feature film was won by Josué Saavedra with Funes, Machine and Heart and the best fictional feature film “El Salto de los Ángeles” by José Miguel Zamora.

They also awarded special mention for documentary feature film to Pablo Croce's Siudy Between Two Worlds and in the feature fiction category “A Sea of Freedom”, by Garmen Monteverde; and Tarkarí de Chivo by Daniel Yegres and Francisco Denis.
