Tiburones de La Guaira and Leones del Caracas kick off the pre-season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) 2025-2026, this Thursday, October 9, at 5 in the afternoon, at the Jorge Luis García Carneiro stadium in Macuto.

This will be the first challenge of both elevens before starting their path for a spot in the Round Robin.

The match will also mark the debut of Gregorio Petit at the helm of the sharks after the departure of Oswaldo Guillén, while the haired ones keep José Alguacil in the lead.

It should be noted that the 2025-2026 Venezuelan Professional Baseball League season will begin on October 15 with the game between the Tigres de Aragua and Cardenales de Lara.

The Caracas Lions will open the season on Thursday, October 16 at home against Bravos de Margarita and Tiburones will do the same in Maracaibo against Águilas del Zulia, according to sports media reports.

This year, the 80th edition of the Venezuelan championship is held in homage to the legend David Concepción and includes the execution of 56 matches per team, consisting of series of eight matches against each team

On Monday, December 1st, the Home Run Derby will be held. While on Tuesday, the 9th of the same month, the All-Star Game will take place
