This Thursday, the president-elect of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, criticized the Ukrainian regime for launching attacks against the territory of the Russian Federation with American-made missiles.
An article in the American magazine, Time, cited Trump's position on the military assistance that Washington has been providing to Ukraine in recent months.
“I don't agree with sending missiles hundreds of kilometers inside Russia. Why do we do it? We are only intensifying this war and making it worse,” Trump said, adding that “now they are not only doing it with missiles, but with other types of weapons. And I think that's a big mistake.”
The president-elect also assured that he will use US support for Ukraine as a lever to negotiate with the government of Vladimir Putin to end the conflict. “I want to come to an agreement.”
He also assured that the only way to reach an agreement is not to abandon Kiev. According to an analysis from an international media outlet, Trump's team discusses three main scenarios for achieving peace in the Ukrainian conflict, and all initiatives exclude the future integration of Ukraine into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
