This Saturday, through publications from an American media outlet, it was announced that the team of the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump is studying the possibility of using planes and military installations for his announced plan of mass deportation.

In a note in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), it was stated that this option “is something that is certainly on the table (...) Military troops cannot, by law, make arrests on U.S. soil, but Trump's immigration advisors hope they can provide assistance in other ways to push for deportations.”

The publication notes that the Republican team has not yet defined how much will be allocated to the mass deportation plan.

The fear of workplace raids and repatriations is real among the migrant community, and the American Immigration Council estimated that the cost of deporting 13 million people living without legal status in the United States would amount to 968 billion dollars in just over a decade.
