Through the social network Instagram, the rector of the Arturo Michelena University (UAM), Giovanni Nani Lozada, denied the longliner Orlando Avenaño about the expulsion of students and professors for political reasons.

“As rector of the UAM, I must say that this is a lie, that is false what this man says (...) I want to send a message to the parents of the UAM students, here we would never punish your children or the family member you have studying here because you think differently or because you support a policy,” he said.

He pointed out that no students have been expelled from the house of study, but that they were only summoned by the Legal Team to deal with the situation and talk about the hate actions they were promoting on social networks.

In that sense, he described Avenaño's posts on the social network X as “irresponsible and false”, while rejecting the systematic attack against private universities for betting on peace in the country and not on destabilization and violence.

In addition, he reaffirmed his condemnation of violence, attacks and threats against his person and other university professors through social networks, referring to the fact that they are not signs of “peaceful demonstrations” as these longliners make it appear.
